Large Tea Brick
In ancient times, a 2.5lb block of pressed tea (such as this one) was used as monetary exchange. A 2.5 ounce piece, was used as change. Today, the full brick is one year's supply of tea. A section of the block is placed in a pot of hot water; when it's the proper consistency, it is pulled out and stored for the next batch of tea, or scraped with a knife into each cup. In modern times, this brick is often used as a decorative item - though it still makes for a delicious, warm beverage on those cold evenings underway!
Appoximate dimensions are 9.5"x7"x1" - large bricks are shipped wrapped in tissue paper.
